Nanjing Xiaozhuang University is a full-time public undergraduate college jointly established by Jiangsu Province and Nanjing City and under the jurisdiction of Nanjing City. The predecessor of the school was the "Xiaozhuang Experimental Rural Normal School" founded by the great people's educator Mr. Tao Xingzhi in 1927. It is the birthplace of rural normal education in my country and the spiritual source of modern Chinese educators. In 1951, with the approval of Premier Zhou Enlai, Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School was reopened. In 2000, Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School, Nanjing Normal College and Nanjing Institute of Education merged to establish Nanjing Xiaozhuang University. In 2014, Nanjing Preschool Normal School was incorporated. In 2024, the school was approved as a master's degree awarding institution.

南京晓庄学院是由江苏省和南京市共建、南京市属全日制公办普通本科院校。学校前身是伟大的人民教育家陶行知先生1927年创办的“晓庄试验乡村师范”，是我国乡村师范教育发祥地，是近代中国教育家精神策源地。 1951年，经周恩来总理批准，南京晓庄师范学校复校。2000年，南京市晓庄师范学校和南京师范专科学校、南京教育学院合并建立南京晓庄学院。2014年，南京幼儿高等师范学校并入。2024年，学校获批硕士学位授予单位。
